There are a lot of Americans who dislike the Left-wing politics of rising 2020 Democratic presidential contender and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttgieg. Some voters cut him some slack because he at least volunteered to serve our country in the military.
Fair enough. But at some point that good will vanishes when the candidate crosses a line of decency — and Buttigieg clearly has.
In a column posted to Medium titled, “An Action Plan to Combat the National Threat Posed by Hate and the Gun Lobby,” Buttigieg slanders law-abiding, Constitution-loving Americans who just happen to be white.
“When America was attacked on 9/11, we immediately said that we would never allow it to happen again. We declared that those attacks would change us for the better and we mobilized to action. Today, America is under attack from homegrown white nationalist terror — facilitated by an unchecked corporate gun lobby — and the response from too many of our leaders is still ‘thoughts and prayers,’” he writes.
And there you have it: The new Democrat buzz phrase for the 2020 election: “White nationalism,” which scumbags like this guy use interchangeably with “white supremacy.”
It’s bad enough that Buttigieg — a former naval intelligence officer who swore to uphold and defend all of the Constitution, not just the parts of it he likes — to trash the Second Amendment so blatantly. But we expect that because he’s a Democrat and there aren’t many of them who respect the Constitution’s guarantee of the right of Americans “to keep and bear arms.”
But to slander the majority of Americans simply because of their skin color is intolerable and, frankly, it’s disqualifying for a presidential candidate.
Like President Trump or not, a) he’s not a racist despite all of the Left’s claims to the contrary; and b) we can’t count the number of times the man has said he’s president of all of America — not just ‘colored’ America.
Buttigieg, by comparison, obviously believes it is more important to pander to non-white Americans than to try to be a presidential candidate for everyone. It’s pathetic and it’s disgusting.
Using his warped, disturbing ‘logic,’ Americans should be incensed at every person of Middle Eastern descent and all Muslims because the 19 individuals who attacked our country on 9/11 were all of Middle Eastern descent and Muslim.
But we don’t hear Buttigieg labeling them “Islamic nationalists” or “tan-skinned nationalists” or “nationalists” of any country.
Yet, when a mass shooter in America is white, he’s a “white nationalist/white supremacist” — all of them, not just the ones who may very well be.
Why is that? What causes Democrats to generalize like this? And why do they try to alienate the majority of Americans?
Anytime someone generalizes, they are most often doing a disservice to the majority of people in the particular aggrieved demographic. Not all football players commit acts of violence off the field, though some do. Not all shooters who are white are white supremacists, though some are. Not all Muslims are terrorists, despite the fact that most acts of terrorism in the world today are committed by members of the Islamic faith.
Any presidential contender who disregards our constitutional founding is a threat to freedom and liberty.
But a presidential contender who seeks to divide our multi-racial, multi-ethnic country by race and ethnicity is throwing gasoline on a fire. Nothing is more fraying to the American social fabric than racial division, and yet Democrats do it all the time.
Why?
The only reason that makes sense is that they’re trying to cause division, anger, resentment, and suspicion because they believe doing so helps them politically.
Buttigieg’s “action plan” to “fight hate” and the “gun lobby” is impractical, nonsensical, hypocritical, and unworkable. Hate will always be present where humans interact; and perhaps there wouldn’t be a gun lobby if Democrats would stop trying to take our guns away.
